The game has a cap of 50 characters. There are currently [##] characters in game.

In the event that a number of applications are received that exceeds the available space in the game, excess applications will be given the verdict of PENDING. Pending applications will be judged and accepted into the game as existing players drop or are swept by AC, and applications will not reopen until all pending players have been formally accepted. (Players with pending applications may comment to their applications to retract them at any time.)

Otherwise, applications are always open. Mods aim to read and respond to applications within three days of submission. If your application receives a revision request, you must respond with revisions within three days (72 hours) of the verdict, or your application will be denied.

Because the game is open on an invitation-only basis, there are no reserves at Lamplight. Instead, characters people intend to apply for are listed on the Invitations page. Taken characters can be found here.

THE APPLICATION

Please title your applications with character name, canon, and invitation code in the header. Please post your application with the journal you intend to use for the game. You must put your invitation code in the subject line or your application will be automatically rejected.

Applications are screened. Application verdicts will be posted as responses to the first comment of the application. Please note that applications that fail to meet wordcount minimums in any section will be automatically rejected.
